However, we don't think its bytecode (which is very close to the machinel) would be very good for direct execution of JavaScript, which operates on fairly high level concepts. Have you looked into using LLVM instead of writing the byte code interpreter yourselves? It should have byte code handling, execution and JIT already built-in..
